La
Roche - Castle ruins
Just a few miles from
the cottage, the riuns of the feodal castle is guaranteed to
amaze you.
Open to the public all
year long, take a stroll around -and in- this beautiful
8th-century relic. During summer, watch out for the famous
castle ghost appearing.
La Roche is an
incredibly pictoresque village. Sit down on one of the many
streetside terraces, have a local beer, and relax.... this is
what holidays should be like! |

Orval

You may have heard from
Orval - indeed, this is a world famous beer, brewed by monks
in the nearby Abbey.
The ruins are an amazing
witness to the abbeys' past.
By law (well, not
really, but it should be), you have to go into one of the
local pubs and try out the world class beer!

Durbuy

Indeed, it is
-officially- a town. All of its 450 native inhabitants are
proud of it - and have every reason to be : small cobblestone
streets, small shops, nice restaurants; enclosed by hills.

Bouillon
- near the French border
Belgium is small indeed
- 10 minutes from the cottage, and you're in luxembourg.
Westward, a 45 min drive takes you to the French border.
On your way, Bouillon
awaits you. Once the power centre of half of Europe, the
immense castle is still open to visits today. |
